i’m finally going to be treated for low testosterone caused by head injury 8 years ago. my doctor initially prescribed clomiphene/clomid on a trial basis and it doubled my levels, but insurance will not cover it. anyway, here are the levels before clomid :
FSH : 3.1
LH : 3.2
testosterone : 275

and here are the levels after one week on clomid:
FSH : 6.0
LH : 11
Testosterone : 440

i noticed some improvement in libido during the time, but nothing remarkable. what i want to know is, will a 2.5mg dose of androgel boost my levels more than that? i don’t want to shut off my testes just to achieve the same diminished levels that i had with clomiphene.
i’m going to see if the 2.5mg works because the fewer the side effects, the better. also, will there be less testicular atrophy on a lower dosage, or is it just going to shut off completely?

however, i’m not all that optimistic the 2.5 will work. what dosage should a 26 y/o male get? i’d like to get comfortably in the normal range. thanks!
i have tried over the counter “natural” alternatives for a long time with mixed results. the best results i achieved was actually using “enzyte”… i plan to still take natural routes, but i have a medical condition that requires serious treatment. i appreciate the natural suggestions, but my question is focused on the results of this treatment that i WILL be starting. thanks.
